This winter, we’ll be running a Winter Weather Timetable, but only on days when we expect ice and light snow which freezes around the electric rail, preventing trains from drawing power, or during strong winds and heavy rain which can cause flooding or debris on tracks. And in the worst cases, preventing trains from being able to move at all.
When this timetable is in place, some train times will be different, services less frequent, and you may need to change trains to get to your destination. Check before you travel and allow extra time for your journey.
We aim to give you a minimum of 24 hours’ notice on our website that the timetable will change, to give you time to plan.
In heavier snow, a Severe Winter Weather Timetable is likely to run, and you can find out more about this timetable here.
Sometimes mother nature has other ideas, and the weather changes from the forecast, which means we may need to change this planned timetable. We’ll do all we can to keep you up-to-date.
Check your journey up to 24 hours in advance via our journey planner. You can also follow us on Twitter for updates @SE_Railway #SEwinter
If you have any questions about the timetables, your journey options, tickets or delay repay, you can view FAQs on this page, as well as finding out how we prepare for winter weather.
