As part of our Engineering team, it’s your job to…

Make sure all our trains are ready to run safely and efficiently, so we can provide the services our passengers rely on. Whether you work to service our trains, in Materials and Planning, or Technical and Quality, your expertise will keep our railway running.

How you’ll work

Our Engineering team is made up of a variety of roles. This includes Service Engineers and people in Engineering Support who work to examine our trains, identify faults, and complete repairs and maintenance. Other roles focus on fitting and checking components, such as toilets. Or inspecting and approving new parts. Or ensuring our trains are always clean and safe, inside and out.

Whichever role you do, it’s about working with the rest of our multi-talented team to achieve the exceptionally high standards we set ourselves.

It’s likely you’ll work a varied shift pattern, which may include weekends, bank holidays and nights. However, many of our people really value the time this gives them outside of work. They’re able to switch off the moment they finish their shift and focus on spending time with family, friends, or doing other things they love.
