On Board Manager

Children shouldn’t be the only ones excited to travel highspeed. Every journey on our Javelin trains should be full of memorable moments. And there’s a special kind of satisfaction that comes with making sure they are.

As an On Board Manager, it’s your job to…

Give passengers an outstanding experience when they travel on our highspeed trains. From meeting and greeting people when they step on board, to offering information and advice about their journey, and ensuring our trains are always safe, welcoming spaces to be in, it’s up to you to make everyone’s journey the best it can be.

How you’ll work

Our On Board Managers work a varied shift pattern, which includes weekends, bank holidays and nights. You may have to start as early as 4.30am, and on some shifts you may finish as late as 1.30am.

However, many of our people really value the time this gives them outside of work. They’re able to switch off the moment they finish their shift and focus on spending time with family, friends, or doing other things they love.

On top of that, you’ll get job security, lots of long-term career opportunities and great rewards. Check out the benefits you could get.

Here’s what our people say…

"Although it’s great zipping along at 140 miles an hour, the best bit of my job is dealing with passengers. There are different faces every day and almost as many different questions to answer."

Our training will get you full steam ahead

When you join us, you’ll be enrolled into our Apprenticeship Programme. From learning safety procedures to creating a great customer experience, this will give you all the knowledge and skills you need to make every moment great for passengers. What’s more, it comes with a nationally recognised qualification.
