Current improvement projects

We’re proud to be driving forward a £2 million station improvement programme, which will benefit over 100 stations by March 2025. This ambitious initiative includes deep cleaning, repairs, and enhancements that will refresh and modernise station facilities across our network.

Deep Cleans: Extensive deep cleans are being carried out at 116 stations, ensuring platforms and public areas shine like new. This goes above and beyond our ongoing maintenance to give our stations a real boost.

Repair & Upgrade Work: At 20 key stations, we are repainting public areas and either repairing or replacing customer facilities. These enhancements aim to create safer, more functional, and more visually appealing spaces for passengers.

Some of the stations benefiting from this work include Ashford International, Blackheath, and Bromley South, as well as deep cleansing works at Brixton, Canterbury East, and Deal.

You can see the full list of the stations on our station information page.

Completed station improvements

Margate booking hall

With our Alliance partner Network Rail we’ve just wrapped up a £2.6 million refurbishment programme across more than 20 stations.

The collaborative effort has delivered better facilities, improved accessibility, upgraded waiting areas, and refreshed station environments, offering a more comfortable and enjoyable experience for the thousands of passengers who use these stations each year.

The projects included restoration work in the historic booking hall and station café at Margate blending charm and modern convenience.

At Eltham, we completely enclosed three platform waiting rooms with sleek glazed panelling and installed automatic sliding doors, ensuring accessible entry for all.

At Orpington, we introduced a brand-new women’s toilet facility on the busy London-bound platform two, offering improved comfort and convenience.

Each of these projects represents our commitment to enhancing the passenger experience, from the moment you arrive at the station to the time you board your train.
