There are nine Railcards available, offered by National Railcards, giving passengers the chance to pick the Railcard that suits them best.
Seven of the Railcards can be bought through Southeastern:
And the other two need to be bought directly from National Railcards:
All the Railcards that we sell can be bought either at a station as a paper Railcard or online as a Digital Railcard.
National Railcards also sell both paper and Digital Railcards through their own systems.
Where paper Railcards are physical cards that go alongside your ticket (whether paper, Key or eTicket), Digital Railcards exist within the Southeastern app, and can be displayed to support your ticket when a ticket inspection takes place. Because Digital Railcards are always kept within the app alongside your digital tickets, they'll always be there and available.
You can buy Digital Railcards through the Southeastern website or app and they'll be applied to your Southeastern account.
Please note that you can also buy Digital Railcards directly from National Railcards, and any bought that way will be in their system.
Once you've bought your Digital Railcard from Southeastern, you can access it through our app. Just ensure you're logged into the right account, and it'll be available right away.
You can also set a favourite Digital Railcard within the app (particularly if you have several). We'll then be able to apply it automatically to any orders where it's valid, providing the appropriate discount for you.
If you need to show the Digital Railcard for a ticket inspection, just select it in the Southeastern app for them.
Please note that Digital Railcards can also be bought directly from National Railcards, and so it may be in their system.
Firstly, please check to ensure you're logged into the correct account within the Southeastern app. You'll need to be logged into the same account that you bought the Digital Railcard on.
Digital Railcards can also be sold by National Railcards. Please check to see if you bought the Digital Railcard with them, as you may need to use their app.
Firstly, please check to ensure you're logged into the correct account within the Southeastern app. You'll need to be logged into the same account that you bought the Digital Railcard on.
Each Railcard has its own individual terms and conditions which determine where and when it can be used, and with which ticket types. If you have a favourite Digital Railcard set within the Southeastern app, we'll apply it where it's appropriate to do so. This is so you don't end up buying a ticket with a Railcard discount that isn't valid for your journey.
Please check the details of your particular Railcard, if you'd like to know more about its specific allowances and restrictions.
We will send you an email or app message before your railcard is due to expire.
You can renew your Digital Railcard through the Southeastern website or app, within 30 days of the expiry date.
Simply login to your account, select the type of railcard you want to renew, then follow the easy steps.
Once your payment has been confirmed, your renewed Digital Railcard will be available to use straight away.
If you have an Annual Gold Card, you can buy one of the following yearly Railcards for just £10, either for yourself or someone else:
These can only be bought at stations, and are not available as Digital Railcards. There is an exception for Disabled Persons Railcards through National Railcards.
If you forgot to travel with your Railcard and couldn’t get a discount on your ticket, you can apply for a refund of the difference on the first occasion every 12 months.
You can upload a copy of your ticket and railcard to our Contact Customer Services form and we’ll be happy to consider a refund for you.
Along with saving money with a Railcard, you can also save money on our ticket promotions like GroupSave, Group travel, Weekender and Kids for a Quid.

If you're a group of adults travelling together, please do look into GroupSave. You can buy up to nine tickets at a time with this discount, so you may need to make multiple bookings if your group is larger than that.
