Lines have now reopened following a tree blocking the railway at Hildenborough. However, whilst service recovers, trains running between Tonbridge and Sevenoaks may be cancelled, delayed by up to 40 minutes or revised.
Disruption is expected until 15:00.
What's happened?
A train had struck a tree in the Hildenborough area. The incident train was been able to move towards Sevenoaks, but the line towards London was blocked awaiting staff to attend the tree.
Staff had attended to the tree and it is now clear of the line, but the London-bound line remained blocked while the earthworks in the area of the tree fall were inspected. This inspection has taken place and the line has now reopened for the normal passage of trains.
How does this affect my journey?
Services between London and Tonbridge may be delayed, altered or revised while we work to return the service to normal.
What should I do?
Please allow extra time for your journey, and check before you travel.
