Hastings Pier

Hastings Contemporary

Hastings Contemporary champions modern and contemporary art. A programme of temporary exhibitions showcases important Modern British artists, internationally celebrated artists, and emerging practitioners. Since the award-winning building opened nine years ago, the gallery has developed a reputation for its focus on painting. Hastings Contemporary is in the picturesque Old Town of Hastings, where it sits among the famous net huts of the fishing beach and overlooking the largest beach-launched fishing fleet in Europe.

Hastings Beach

Dip your toes in the sea and enjoy time on the beach which stretches from the fishing quarter all the way along to Hastings Old Town. Close to plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants, the arcades and Pier attractions, Hastings Beach makes for a great day out.

Hastings Castle & 1066

William the Conqueror rebuilt the original wooden tower in stone following victory at the Battle of Hastings at nearby Battle. Discover the history of Britain’s first Norman castle on an audio tour as you wander around the ruins on the West Hill.

British Tea Museum

Time for tea? The British Team Museum in the Old Town is the perfect spot to discover the customs and manners of British teatime. Treat yourself to a delicious Afternoon Tea whilst learning about the social history of tea and British etiquette, or try the 90-minute Teatime Masterclass hosted by Lady Rebecca and enjoy tea tasting, a tutorial on making the perfect cup of tea, a Victorian carriage and British dress-up box, games and more.

Hastings Old Town

Browse and buy along the historic streets of Hastings Old Town, featuring antique shops, vintage clothes, and art and crafts. Take a rest from retail therapy and sightseeing with a wide choice of tea rooms, pubs and places to eat. There’s plenty of choice, whether you fancy sampling the local seafood or eating Thai in a restaurant-come-bookshop.

America Ground

En route from the station to the seafront, you’ll find this area packed with vibrant businesses, offering everything from vegan to vintage to vinyl, great street food and unique entertainment. On the seafront stroll along the pier, take a tour of the True Crime Museum or wonder at the skill of the BMXers at Source Skate Park.

Cliff Railways

Go up in the world by climbing aboard the Victorian funicular railway to get the best views in Hastings from the East and West Hill cliffs. From the top you can visit Hastings Country Park and take in incredible views of the Old Town and Rock-a-Nore.

Source Park BMX

Source Park is the world’s largest underground skatepark located inside an old Victorian baths complex. Located on the seafront close to Hastings Pier, Source Park features 2 skateparks and the UK’s largest BMX shop. The Courtyard is also a great spot to grab a drink, a bite to eat or a haircut!
